It was a successful trip to Carlisle for the Winter National Show, held in conjunction with Borderway Agri Expo, this month, where two young calves by the home bred Oakchurch Equity N141 caught the eye of judge Alan Morrison from the Drummeer herd, Maguiresbridge, Northern Ireland.

Having taken the heifer calf championship honours, Oakchurch Donna S241 then went on to take the reserve overall calf championship. This one is out of Donna L179, herself a daughter of Netherallan Peter Pershore E052.

Also picking up the winning rosettes was her half brother, Oakchurch Dollar Man S249, who stood bull calf champion. Again, by equity, this one is out of Oakchurch Daisy P170, a daughter of Blelack Blackrod L774.

Both calves will hopefully be part of our summer show team next year as part of the World Angus Forum 2017.
